Alaskan CBD Brand our Budtenders Love!
For us here at Green Jar it is our priority to focus and highlight local brands. Birch Alaskan Naturals came to our attention several months ago when they reached out to us to be in our shop. We had them deliver some samples for our budtenders to try because if our team doesn’t like it or think it’s a good product then it won’t make it onto our shelves. How can we be excited to sell you a product if we don’t stand behind it? Well, our budtenders and the whole team LOVED IT! They raved that it is hands down the best tasting CBD in the Alaskan market! Even there dogs couldn’t get enough of their Salmon Oil CBD.
Locally Sourced Ingredients
What truly sold us on their product is how much of it is locally sourced. Know when you purchase and consume their product you are not only supporting Green Jar but the berry pickers out of Delta Junction, the fishermen on the coast, the family of beekeepers from Fairbanks and so much more! They are also an approved product of the Alaskan Industrial Hemp Program.
We are so excited to have them out today, December 9th from 1pm-6pm for an in house vendor day! We hope you come by to ask them all of your questions and enjoy 10% off of their products on the vendor day.
We were able to sit them down for a little Q&A so read on for more about Birch Alaskan Naturals:
Q:When did you get started in the Cannabis/ CBD industry?
A: Birch Alaskan Naturals started in Fairbanks in 2021, originally consisting of two brothers and their close friend.
Q:What made you want to get involved with CBD?
A: We collectively noticed a lack of authentically Alaskan CBD products in the market. We realized that many Alaskan ingredients would pair well with CBD. Components that have been used medicinally for centuries and can be wild-harvested sustainably. This concept built the foundation for Birch.
Q:What is your mission statement?
A: We believe in forest-to-body wellness, and our mission is to provide high-quality, healthy products that taste delicious for everyday use.
Q:About how many families/ locals do you support with your business?
A: Currently, Birch employs six families, and we utilize local resources and services to source our ingredients. We support a group of women who source our cranberries and blueberries from the hills of Delta Junction, a local salmon oil company that sources their oil from local fishermen. Our honey is sourced from a local Fairbanks beekeeper, J & G!
Q:Why do everything local?
A: Sourcing locally is vital to us because it not only increases our economy locally but also reduces emissions and energy usage. We understand that if our business does well, our community partners do well too.
Q:What makes you excited about your business?
A: What makes us excited about Birch is that the opportunities are endless, and Alaska has so much to offer regarding ingredients and innovative flavors. We constantly source new herbs, flowers, bark, and other wild raw ingredients to create powerful Alaskan products.
Q:What have been/ is your biggest hurdles?
A: Like any Alaskan business, supplying raw materials is challenging, especially with the global supply shortage. Luckily, Birch focuses on using natural ingredients harvested in Alaska, so our challenges for sourcing ingredients are at the local level. We’re also working within the newly launched Hemp regulations in Alaska, which requires us to focus on regulatory compliance and educating potential business customers on retail rules.
Q:Where are you located?
A: Birch Alaskan Naturals lab is located in Fairbanks along with our partners. We also have a location in Anchorage, Alaska, for quick delivery options.
Q:What are your future plans? Are there more products on the way?
A: Some new products to get excited about are our 50 mg honey sticks, which come in an assortment of flavors Blueberry, Cranberry, Cinnamon Chaga, and Birch Syrup Chaga. We also are rolling out creamed honey in the flavors of Cranberry and Cinnamon Chaga. Lastly, get excited about our CBD Chaga Coffee! You get the great taste of coffee while the CBD and Chaga work effectively to reduce caffeine jitters and help you avoid that midday crash!
At Green Jar we are excited about carrying and promoting this brand! We can’t wait for the new products to roll out, especially the CBD Chaga Coffee. We hope everyone comes out for the vendor day this Friday December 9th from 1pm-6pm to try some delicious samples, and buy a bottle for yourself!
